Below are 5 key takeaways from the roadshow, with the first one being the most important:
Organizations are pushing the boundaries when it comes to applications and what they are demanding of them
#1 Organizations are pushing the boundaries when it comes to applications and the amount of data they required these applications to process and produce.
Petabytes of data are being gathered, streamed, and processed to help organizations make better customer-centric decisions. Data being generated by these applications need a new way of being protected, as the traditional methods of data protection do not work, nor do they scale for the multi-cloud world today.
#2 Next-generation cloud applications are ubiquitous in enterprise corporate America organizations across all verticals of retail, manufacturing, financials, high-tech, eCommerce and others. At the same time, customers are looking to move their entire IT environments to the cloud.
#3 Data management, data protection, and data recoverability are top of mind. Replication and DR are well understood solutions, but enterprises also understand that neither of them is the same as backup.
#4 Enterprises are in the middle of their digital transformation journey, and realize that as they adapt to the cloud-first and cloud-only world, they do not want to take their existing data management tools with them. One of our customers told us: “Who takes their existing sofa or appliances from their old home when you move to the new home!”
#5 The open-source community is unmatched, with a cult-like following in every state. This is key for widespread adoption as application owners take IT and the success of the databases they manage into their own hands.
And last but not least, Datos IO had a great time conversing with individuals to share what we have built and how we are addressing customers’ pains going forward.
