The cloud has become a pillar of every organization’s infrastructure, and the demand for cloud data protection has never been greater with organizations leveraging private cloud and public cloud including Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform, and Microsoft Azure for their business-critical applications. Datos IO has become a trusted solution for enterprises everywhere with a differentiated solution that delivers data protection @ cloud scale.
As a result, for the 2nd straight year, Gartner has listed Datos IO as a Sample Vendor in two Gartner reports; “Hype Cycle for Storage Technologies, 2017” and “Hype Cycle for Cloud Security, 2017.” Gartner also identifies Cloud Data Backup as a technology on the rise in terms of its business impact, adoption rate and maturity level, and cited Datos IO in both reports as one of the select sample vendors in the market.
In both Hype Cycle reports, Gartner states “Cloud data backup refers to policy-based backup tools that can back up and restore production data generated natively in the cloud. Such data could be generated by software as a service applications, such as Microsoft Office 365 and Salesforce, or by infrastructure as a service compute services, such as Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) instances. Backup copies can be stored in the same or a different cloud location, and various restore/recovery options should be offered in terms of restore granularity and recovery location.”
This announcement adds to numerous other milestones for Datos IO in 2017 including doubling our customer base in the first two quarters, launching our RecoverX 2.0 product, announcing partnerships and joint solutions with NetApp, Cisco, VMware, and Oracle, and launching our Rebellion Partner Program.

Datos IO RecoverX can be deployed on a physical server, a virtual machine, or any cloud compute instance (for example, Amazon EC2, Amazon EC2, Oracle Compute, Google Compute, Azure Compute, et al)). RecoverX communicates with the Hadoop cluster through Application Listeners that are lightweight scripts automatically deployed by RecoverX on DataNodes.
